I have a temp sensor on the top left hand side of my radiator. It looks like a small sparkplug in bronze.

My question..... There is a live feed to it for my now removed air con. Can I use this temp sensor as the trigger for an electrical fan someone's given me off their 7? No idea the temp it triggers at and can find it in a workshop book

Was thinking it seems a waste to buy another trigger/ sensor when I have one there.

That sensors is for the A/C condenser fans. It has power one one side and a wire that leads down to the area in front of the radiator. You could use it as a switch for you engine radiator fan but the temp range is a bit high. I think that it kicks in at about 200/210 degrees.

Can I get a sensor with a lower temp? 80c. Theres loads for other makes but doubt they'll fit Not sure what that is in fh

Seems a shame it being there and buying one that fits on the pipe.

Mine's running an electric fan with the temp sender as you describe, I'm sure it's got a sensor from a metro fitted.

Temp gauge reads on it's last setting before the fan kicks in, and it has a manual over ride switch fitted for the feint hearted.
