Triumph TR7/8 3D CAD model

Postby edgyWedgy » 10 Nov 2016 21:46

Hi all,

I'm deserately looking for a 3D CAD model of out beloved wedge to subject to reasearch(drag coefficient etc.), but i can't find anything.
I though one of you might have a model that he/she is OK with to share here. (or if you know one somewhere on the internet)
Thanks in advance!

Cheers

The only 3D model I've seen is one done by "Moku" for the Richard Burns Rally (RBR) sim racing game.

I used 3D Object Converter to convert the RBR file format and managed to get it into Blender, but it needs a lot of work.

If you find something better please post a link here.

What are you aiming for?

Not sure about others, but I think it would be fantastic if the community had access to a free (open source) 3D CAD model to use for design of evo wedges.

I note that Moku's RBR model now seems password protected, which was not the case when I first came across it in June 2014.

At the time, I downloaded and converted the model to binary and ascii files in .stl format. These did not import cleanly into Blender, but were better than other formats that I tried.

I am happy to share what I have, but given the access change I am concerned about IP.
