That doesn't look like a TR7 fuel cap I've ever seen, especially the fixing arm I can't see working on the filler neck. Looks pretty used.

Hi,

Not one I have ever seen, why would it have petrol on it ? This tended to happen when diesels came along to avoid misfueling, the only Diesels BL had at the time were the SD1 2.4SD and the ultra rare Marina 1.5 D. shame can't see more of that part number could have poss. checked fitment of it via that.

Cheers John

It looks a little like the non standard one that was on my car at one stage, which was stainless steel and didn't have the word "petrol" stamped in it, I think it may've come from some sort of Ford.

I've never seen one of these on a wedge before. All the pics in the various TR books I have show the usual "4 spoke" fuel caps, even the prototypes.

Inside it looks like the one off an XD Falcon we used on the 8 for a while, after a certain son left mine sitting on the petrol pump when buying fuel one day.

It wasn't so flash on top, as it was covered by the number plate on the Ford.
