Prices are soaring!

Postby march » 20 May 2016 18:31

Wow - how prices have gone up

http://www.vintagerollsroycecars.com/sa ... -roadster/

It's not even original. If that's how the prices are going I may have a very genuine TR7 with very genuine TR7 rust for sale - any takers I am sure I can do it a little cheaper than the one advertised

Just had a look at the invoices supplied, I might have wrong but it looks like it has had 2 maybe 3 rear disk / axle conversions? by S&S

Blurb:
For Sale for £39,850
Chassis no: TPADJ7AT 214369
Registration: WVF999X
This is a one-off street legal track day event car which has the V8 'Corvette' sounding race car engine.
Not only will the sound impress, but the sheer amount of torque available from standstill. It leaves most other cars standing and with a power to weight ratio of around 200+bhp/ton, it is a serious performance car (perfect for Goodwood Revival or Shelsey Walsh Hill climb events). With the four wheel disc brake set up, you can also use the performance to the full, safe in the knowledge that it can stop as well as it can accelerate.

This Triumph TR7 V8 Roadtser car has covered a scant 2,804 miles since it's bare metal rebuild. The previous owner tells us it had 117 miles on the clock when purchased in 2009.
The TR7 comes with a spare engine block & heads still in their wrappers, in case the next owner is serious about racing!

The paintwork is flawless, finished in ‘Ferrari Rosso Corsa Red’ contrasting beautifully with the ‘Dark Blue’ coloured hides to the seats. Wilton Claret Red wool carpets finish the ensemble.

Under the bonnet lurks the powerful 4.6 litre V8 engine, mated with a 5-speed SD1 box makes for truly electrifying performance.

Not their normal stock so obviously priced to clear.

It reminded me of one of the S&S demonstrators (blue painted dash) from their Ramsbottom days so I wasn't surprised when one of the supporting docs is theirs. It does look smart.

To whoever has changed the heading of this thread - This is not meant to be about the sale of a particular car, more about the ridiculous (possibly deluded) values that some people are putting on our cars as well as a general discussion of potential for a general increase in TR7 values.

Changed by myself but only for the first entry - thereafter they have the heading 'Re: Prices are soaring!' as per original

"has the V8 'Corvette' sounding race car engine". Is this on USB or SD card or perhaps the old school CD disc? :P

Well they haven't got the right boot fitted for its year and also going to all that detail and finish and they put the VIN plate on the wrong side!

I think he has been selling Rolls Royce cars too long and lost touch with the real world!

Perhaps the price reflects the uniqueness of the car?

I'll tell you what, doing this with the price has been great advertising, it is all over Facebook and some forums

even is he only got half the price, but the man in the know

comment is worrying.
If it's not broke don't fix it.

Hi,

Anything is only worth what someone is prepared to pay ultimately and not a penny more.

I saw this gents business on TV on Channel 4 over christmas, he does stock some truly gorgeous classics from a location you would never believe contained such beauties -

http://www.channel4.com/programmes/million-pound-motors

Have to say as you will see from the program, to sell a car.... you first should check it has fuel in it

Cheers John

But one can pick up a Kindle edition of the "How to restore Triumph TR7 & TR8 enthusiasts restoration manual" for just £14.99 ! You could afford several Kindles and still be ahead.
It is all very well offering books at £400 - but how many have actually sold!
