After all the spam episode I realise the forum was turned off to new members. Has this division been reversed?
The forum is becoming a little bit of a ghost town lately and I was wondering if that had anything to do with it?

Actually, registration has been turned off.

As suggested at the time, it would be good if this could be changed.

To do this, perhaps the mods could set up the email address forum.triumphtr7.com@gmail.com. so that all the mods could access it and deal with any new (legitimate) membership requests.

Hey guys

So here is my take on the subject;

Yes the forum registration will be re-opened to new members soon, but probably not before September at the earliest.
The last spam attack was very time consuming for us , I was spending upwards of a couple of hours per evening deleting the crap, while Johnny and clay were doing their best to control it.
As was mentioned by Maxwell, the forum always slows down this time of the year , and in my part of the world summer is short, so you have to get out there and enjoy it!
This site is purely run on a volunteer basis and does not generate income, its run purely on appreciation for our little cars....
so things like the busiest summer in many years at the shop (thanks in part to those GM recalls ;)) a very very time consuming soccer coaching season with the kids and outings with the family become priority for me.
I'll be on vacation for the next few weeks and be in and out of town on occasion which means very limited "interweb" time for me...
it would not be fair to let the site and my fellow moderators to have to deal with rubbish , so everything is prolly going to stay status-quo for now .....

cheers

Ron.

Don't worry about it Ron, most of us are well aware how much we benefit from the work of a few, & appreciate it greatly.

It is probably a fact of having cured most of our problems, for the moment. Never fear, I'm sure our cars will have a new age related curly problem, like the couple of years of rusting fuel tanks, to throw at us from left field.

Meanwhile you regular show goers, please keep the photos coming. On that, it would be great if you could identify some of the less well known cars in those photos. Out here in the younger colonies, we didn't get many of the low volume cars, & often I for one, have no idea of what I am admiring, but am still happily admiring.

You can say that again! I'm on here daily, checking the latest posts, but mainly using the Search feature and the new Workshop Manual section as I work on getting my '76 Java Green FHC road worthy. The site, with its info and members is been greatly appreciated!!

There where a couple people on one of the FB pages wanting to join but couldn't. I suggested they email the admin link to see if they could be added.

I am just now getting to where I can walk again. I will be having more surgery on my feet in about two weeks. I will then be confined to the bed for a month. Bugger!

I don't know when I will be back on the Forum again.

Hi Jclay, really sorry to hear about your problems. I would have a real problem if I couldn't drive my cars.

Still, if I was confined to bed, I doubt I'd ever be off the net. There wouldn't be much more to do.

Good luck mate, hope it comes out OK for you.

Hi Jclay,

Sorry to hear you going to be back under the knive, all the best from us in the UK.

I get on here at least once a day and since the locking it down it has been easier to keep an eye on things, really don't need another weekend like we had in May it was relentless spam attack over the two days, litteraly as you deleted them more would appear [:(!]

Not sure if this format can be set up where we verify someone is real or not but seems the way forward, when Jay unlocks things we will have to see what happens [?][?][?]

As far as posting is concerned it is always quite this time of year and at the end of the day its what everyone makes it............ so get posting !!........ don't be shy [;)]

Cheers John
