Anybody made up their minds on attending the All British Field Meet in Portland this year? Jim? Merv? It would be good to see you guys again. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for better weather this year.

Oh, I'll definitely be there. I may even have a top for the car this year. Though with any luck I won't need it. I'll be camping out at PIR like last year.

Cool. I've thought about camping, but I would have to bring more stuff with me from Anchorage. I already have a tent at home and one at the cabin; maybe I should keep yet another one in the trunk of the TR8, along with the beach umbrella that we didn't use last year.

I won't know till last minute (when ever that is) will depend on work done on the house, visiting niece, weather, etc. etc. This time I will remember my tent (didn't last year even though I couldn't use it last year.[:o)])

I think Ron will be there again but with his V-6 rather than son's coupe and possibly Bill with his black TR7, SU's and tuned header. Every things up in the air and I think strongly weather dependent last year put the fear of rain in us.[:D]

Merv,

I've got a fairly short drive after my flight from Anchorage, so my trip is probably a little easier than driving down from BC. And I do get to combine the ABFM with a visit to my family in the Portland area. I have to schedule ahead because I'm gone for a week or more, so I'll be there regardless of weather or progress on my house. Hope you can make it, too. And let's all hope the weather is a little more typically warm and dry this year.

I haven't registered yet. I need a better picture of the car for the program. I'm going to take care of it later this week when the sun is supposed to be out. I just checked the registered cars. 235 cars registered so far and only 4 TR8s, including Ken's, and no TR7s. We really need to have more than 5 or 6 wedges there. Heck, I might have a shot at a peoples choice trophy with my new paint, even though the interior is still the same mess as last year. [:D] Hey Merv, did you make it to Fort Langley last weekend?

Jim,

Your car is gorgeous; just put a tonneau cover over the interior. As I was snapping the cover over my TR6 at the local Show & Shine last week, one of my fellow Alaskans scolded me with an "it never rains on the Show & Shine." I told him that the cover wasn't for the weather, but rather to hide the torn upholstery.

Hopefully there will be some more Wedges from the Portland Triumph Owners Association. There were only two of us on the Papa's Toys tour in May; last year there were four. Do you ever make it to the monthly meetings? I see there is a PTOA tour on August 28, the day after I arrive in Portland. Assuming my car hasn't developed any problems in my absence, I'm going to try to make that.

No,I had planned to go but my wife's niece from Edmonton had her wedding in Cranbrook that day (7th) so had to cancel. Especially important as we were only ones outside her immediate family who could be there and her Dad who has been in hospital since October couldn't make it. (She had lots of friends there though). Oh well, maybe in 2013. I'll be in Comox British car show on 15th but hope I can make it on Labour day weekend.

You should get an award just on the outside of the car itself, Jim.

No matter how much as we love our cars, family is still more important. I know that my wife sometimes doesn't believe that I think so though.

The paint and body work did come out pretty nice. Thanks.
I don't have a tonneau, unfortunately. If it rains this year I'll just have to break out my custom top from last year.[:D]

Love the custom top [:)]. Looks like the TR's got the lines of a fastback there [:D][:D].

I'm planning on being there with my car as well Cale (my son) wants to bring his coupe again. Langley was almost as bad as last years Portland meet as far as weather. On the up side we had 11 wedges in the show and another in the parking lot, all very good cars (5 1981-82 cars).
Paint looks great Jim, love the color!

It would be great to get 11 wedges to the ABFM. I registered today. The list was last updated Tuesday, now 276 cars total but still only the 4 wedges. Mine hasn't showed up on the list yet. I went down by the Columbia River today and took some beauty shots of the car. Much better than my driveway.

I believe we had at least 12 or 14 wedges 2 years back.
