How does the split pin for the retaining nut on the hub/wheel bearing positioned? I want to do it right and I forgot which way it came out (IE eyelet staring straight at me as I look directly down the stub axle shaft). Thanks.

It can only go one way as you wrap back the two split ends the eyelet must face you.
