Strut Braces

Was it someone on here who used to make up Strut Braces to clear pancake filters on the V8?
I have this picture which (I think??) came from Moe's car and I'm still trying to track them down. Anyone know who makes these or of there is something the same on the market?
I've seen the ones from the Wedgeshop in the states but much prefer the look of this one piece simple design. Plus I want to retain the fresh air duct.

Yeah - it was someone on here. He said he was going to make them and sell ob Ebay. As I recall, I saw some on Ebay after he posted that, but nothing for a long time.

Paul_W car is green, but he is a good friend of Moe's, whose car is red.
This is a nice bar for holding the towers steady, but . .
If your goal is to do auto-cross, then you need for the bar to be adjustable to load the towers. This bar does clear the air filter and the bonnet brace and will keep the towers from flexing better than stock.

I've made contact with the guy who made the above. It's definately Moes car. He says he's looking at making another batch so place your orders now! [:D]

Sorry you blokes, but I have to say I don’t think that thing would do anything to support your suspension, stay in place. To do anything worthwhile, a brace must be straight, or fully triangulated.
Any bit of tube, even if very heavy wall section, in tension, with those bends in it would be almost as little use as a rubber band.
If you want something to impress the tyre kickers, fit one, they do look nice, but don’t expect any improvement in handling to result. Sorry, but I hate to see people waste their hard earned money.

I'm no engineer but I think tieing into the cowl/scuttle would be of most benifit. Of course the air plenum intake would need to be re-tought but that has been done before. I want to do this to mine someday but other projects have taken over.

hi all,
yes it is me that done them,they do make a difference i have a 300hp motor in my car,and it drives like a go-kart.
another batch is being made.

Great news Glen,
I m sure they are nowhere near as effective as the Wedgeparts style braces but I m not going rallying my reasons are more "bling" motivated and this allows me to keep the fresh air scoop plus looks great in 304 grade stainless.

Hi Wayne,yes that is my engine bay and I can assure you that it does make a difference,sorry to prove you wrong Hasbeen.[;)]
Glad to see Glen is going to make some more,he does a very good job and as you say Wayne it is a nice piece of bling under the bonnet.
