Ive searched both by the search function, and manually, but cannot find the thread a member posted about these.....

I am looking into buying those Lite-Zupp 90-deg.LED's as replacements for the 1156 bulbs on my 7's brake lights. Who was it that had purchased/installed them on their wedge? I was just wondering before I buy a set.....did you buy the white LEd's or the red? Just curious before I put out the $$. Thnx...J-

Those look nicely made, but you should verify the light output with the manufacturer. Most of the LED taillight drop-ins I've seen are not as bright as the original incandescents.

Not saying that's definitely the case here, but you should check. They do talk a lot about lower power draw and faster on-time but nothing about brightness, which is why I bring it up.

For LEDs you should match the lamp color to the lens. So for a brake light you would want a red LED behind the red lens.

I do have to apologize now!! I didnt find out about these lights on this forum, but first seen them in my 'Triumph Wedge Owners asso.' newsletter! Guess thats what happens when I have too much goin on round my shop!! LOL.

If you purchase all the lights he has for the TR7/8, it will cost you $250. 10 lights x $25 each.

So does anyone know how the brightness of these lights compare?

John, also check out Superbrightleds.com. I used their lights for all my interior lights but they also have all the exterior lights too. A little cheaper than lite-zupp.

Hi ALL,

Well I've been down this expensive route and here are my findings lol

The left hand side is standard bulbs while the right is LEDs, during the day you can't see the LED bulbs and the standard bulbs are much brighter.



During the night the LEDs are slightly better (couldn't find photo sorry)

I replaced the complete car with LED bulbs (Interior and Exterior)but the majority started to fail and/or flicker after no more than a few months (Cheap bulbs?) so I have reverted back to standard all round.



After being rather disappointed with the results I went and purchased all the bits to wire up, design and create my own using White, Amber and Red LEDs and a clear perspex lens.



Unfortunately this project has been put on the back burners, but you do need to get the correct bulb colour behind the correct colour lens for any light to appear.

That's why I was going to have coloured LED's behind a clear lens

Looks to me you used puny 36LED bulbs?

I use:
105LED red bulbs for Brake/Rear lights
63LED white bulbs for Reverse lights
56LED amber bulbs for Direction indicators

and I'm most satisfied with the intensity of the lights. Day OR night...

I'm suprized this happened, in my experience even cheap LED's are reliable. Being a cynic I suspect that typically they are all cheap, dearer ones are often perceived to be better simply because they cast more. Yes you get what you pay for, unfortunately you sometimes pay for someones 1000% mark up. Am I right in thinking that replacement bulbs to the outside of a U.K. vehicle should have e approval, or does that just apply to the light unit itself? Regards, supercass

I've decided to go this route, I'll let you know how it goes. Looks like all the bulbs are super bright and are the LED's without the clear "bulb" on top which seem to be the brightest and least directional. After looking at other sites it was going to be more expensive than this in the long run. One thing I'm not sure of, will I have to replace the Hazard flasher or just the blinker flasher?

Hi, A word of warning!! in some countries it might be illegal from the view of the vehicle testing center to put a coloured bulb behind a coloured lense, it is in New Zealand.!!
