Well its that time of year again........ your waking your cars up from there winter naps etc. and some of us have have braved one of the harsh'est winters our cars have ever known,
and were all thinking about shiny cars (well i amm any way)

What are your favourte cleaning products,
over the last few weeks i have been buying a few bits "n" bobs.

I got my car back yesterday from the bodyshop and decided it needed a good clean so i set about it (I am not expert in detailing) and never will be (but I do class my cleaning regime marginly better than my neighbours washing up liquid old "y" fronts and an old kitchen towel for drying)[:D]

any way i said to the mrs last night " i'm just going to give the car a quick rinse to get some of the dust off " HA HA quick........ three and a half hours later........ and I havent touched the inside, door jambs, under the bonnet, hood or the boot, dust gets everywhere she thinks she's gardening today [;)]

I washed it twice with Autoglym shampoo/conditioner rinsed and dried off with a microfibre drying towel (one of the new bit "n" bobs) and (bucking frilliant it was to, I'll never use a chamois again"
then used autoglym super resin polish followed some autoglym extra gloss finish I am thinking of using a proper wax to finish it off properly although I havent bought one yet and although I do like the autoglym range I think £40 for a wax is a bit steep (high definition wax) but then again if it does the job well,
for the bumpers used smartgel by smartwax and this stuff is the dogs ######## to do the rear bumper two blobs the size of ten pence pieces was plenty and it was the same front.

Anyway I'll post a pic or two later

It rides again..... and again wehey!!!!!!!

I totally second your recommendation of Rain X foam screen cleaner - its the only one I have ever found that gets all the crap off my screen.

I'm also an autoglym man, however the best stuff I've used for bumpers & trim etc. is STP Son Of A Gun! Great stuff. [:)]

well I ummed and ared over the high definition wax (Autoglym) and I did a bit of searching on tinternet and came up with forgoten hero:
Image

been around for years some really good reviews on some of the detailing forums for the money so I thought I would give it ago £7.99,
and like you Stevie I usually use super resin and extra gloss sealant and i'll tell you what i was actually blown away with the results I can actually say the car has never had such a good shine (in my ownership)
Its quite a slow process compared with the extra gloss which a doddle to put on and a breeze to buff off 1/2 hour or so later, but well worth the effort about 1 square foot at a time.

The only thing that peed me off today was the lack of a petrol tank which meant I couldn't go for a drive in a shiny mota,
heres to the shine:

I don't know if it's because your young & interested in girls Wayne,
or just prefer driving to polishing

I know they are making me feel old.

These days my car is a bit like the Sydney Harbour bridge. The
painters start at one end, & by the time they get it finsihed, It's
time to start again.

These days I can only manage to polish one wheel a day, or one door,
or the bonnet perhaps. So polishing my cars is always a work in
progress.

Fortunately, that does not stop me admiring other cars that are
beautifully finsihed. Gaz, Stevie, your cars look great.
