Seat belt attachment point

Need a bit of help. I put carpet in the wife's TR7 and now I can't find the point where the end of the seat belt attaches, down by the door sill.

It attaches to the seat just under the back adjustment arm. Move the seat forward about 1/2 way, use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the adjusting lever for the seat back. I believe that it requires a 17mm wrench to install the bolt.

Ah yes, I recall now. Well that simply won't do as I've changed the seats. I'll have to find another spot to attach to. Any suggestions?

what seats are fitted now? would it be possible to make a plate up to bolt down with the seat mounting points to form a new anchorage point, assume rules might be slightly different over the water...
the project at birth, watch it evolve...I hope...

Nissan Maxima seats. I have a plate but don't want to take the seats back out to work up a mount there. I just need a good solid attachment point, nobody will ever look at it very closely. I found an opening behind the diagonal upright at the rear of the door, (DHC) and it looks like I could slip a backing plate in there and go through the lip directly in front of it. Done right that should be plenty stout, but maybe not the easiest to fit in. Guess I'll give it a try.
The seats are a bit bulky but good for a short person (Edith), and with black leather, 6 way electric and seat heat all for $75 in nearly new condition I couldn't pass them up. Good thing it isn't my car though, as I'd be pulling out the cushions and cutting them down.
