Help!

Postby Steve-LPS-Thomas » 09 Feb 2010 17:28

Does anybody know where I can get a couple of these, new or good secondhand? It's the grommets where the heater pipes go into the matrix. I have new heater pipes and new matrix but nobody has these needed to put the two together!

I informed for them last year but they seem to be no longer available.
Thinking of having an alloy matrix made with the pipes welded in ...

They're currently listed as unavailable at Rimmers and Robsport said they couldn't get hold of them last autumn.

My original rubber seals let go many years ago. A perfect combination of the rubber hardening around the rusting surface of the water pipes. Yours look in perfect nick compared to the ones I had to eventually cut off and replace along with stainless steel pipes.

A pair of these were offered on ebay last year for £20.00 If these aren't available in current form, is it possible to have one of the polybush companies make a mould for them? I don't think 7's were the only BL car to use these seals. Rover SD1's etc?

As a heads up I believe there were supply problems with 5 speed rear shoes late last year as the main supplier went out of business. I may have to send my rear shoes off for relining if I can't find new ones.

£5 more than last year. The stainless steel heater pipes look like a bargain now.

Thanks for the heads up, I wouldn't have spotted it for a few days and someone else might have got there first. I went for buy it now. I should have 4 more coming sometime soon. I'll probably keep 2 for future use and put 2 back on ebay. (If they turn up.. one place I spoke to.. The Computer said yes but the box was empty)

I saw a post somewhere about Victoria British (VB) in the USA that sells a matrix with pipes already fitted.

Thanks for your help Henk, Beans, SD & BT, the Forum Triumphs yet again!

The ones in my pic are worse than they look by the way, almost split in two and the rubber is pretty rotted too.
