What type of Webers are you thinking about, DCOE?
Might be better to convert to "Old World" spec, fit SU HS6

The carbs are weber DVG.They are a conversion kit for the su carbs.I am just looking to get a reliable driver without the trouble I've had in the past.

In that case stick to the SU HS6 and spend the money on a carburettor overhaul ...

last fall I replaced my zeniths with a pair of su hs6's originally from a TR6 (or so the seller told me). had to make 2 adapter plates out of 3/4" aluminum so the mounting holes/bolts would match. Car started and ran at idle, but have not had chance to run at speed. I also needed to fabricate a throttle linkage and manual choke. I still think that is easier than messing with water chokes and associated plumbing. I saw a chart somewhere that a tr7 needs different needles and jets than what a tr6 has, but I haven't changed them yet. When this snow goes away (if ever!) I will report on how it drives. Also been wondering if this will affect the warm-air ducting and air filter box.
