they look like aftermarket alloys rather than off a specific model, quite nice though

They look like they have 5 studs so won't fit a standard car. I'd love to be the owner of the Macau Spitfire even if it's a replica.

How do you know it's a relica. If I remember right it went from Macau to the States to Switzerland or some such, it could be anywhere now.

The plate, the bonnet & the colour scheme give it away. It's a lovely car & I'd be proud to own it but as far as I know there was only 1 Macau Spit and it is currently owned by Canley Classics. The car in this picture is owned by Bernard Robinson. http://triumphmuseum.blogspot.com/searc ... u%20Racing

JClay, there are several wheels that look similar, eg:

A wheel importer once told me that if you really like a style of wheel then for a bit more money they will make one to fit whatever stud pattern you have.

I can tell you the car is a Grinnall - it turned up for the first time at Prescot Hillclimb there in May 2008.Hence the 5-stud wheels, they are Rover SD1 hubs.

You often see wheels like those, [with the spokes standing out so
far], with bad damage, from hitting a gutter.

I would hate to have my wife drive a car with wheels like that. She
manages to rip the side wall out of a front tyre, on average, about
once every 25,000Km, on a gutter somewhere.

I'm glad I resisted the dealer, who tried to give us a set of alloy
wheels, rather than a discount, when we bought the car. I would
have spent a fortune replacing buggered wheels by now. Funny she
did not have this problem when she drove larger cars.

Definatly 5 stud. Which could bring up quite a few possibilities for wheels. The ones in the picture look rather large maybe 16 or 17 profile of the tire looks quite low as well. Could even be a Chrysler Pacifica wheel whitch BTW has the right PCD to fit the rover hub and is 17" they have that multi spoke look almost a Panasport type style but more spokes and larger diameters. Don't ask why I know lets just say I have searched a few to many sources for Rover parts and exchanges.
