Calender

Postby RUDDY » 02 Feb 2010 11:23

I know its very very early but as all things must start with a bit of market research .....

I have been giving some thought to having a TR7 calender produced for next year, each month using a period advertising shot as below.

Not sure if anyone currently does a TR7 only calender, I certainly havent found one this year, the Haynes one does have a cutaway TR7 featured in it.

One of the lads on the Ford BB did one for Escort RS's and it used to retail about £15 inc postage (UK) and was A3'ish in size, he did a run of 100 calenders and they sold like hot cakes.

Anyway, let me know your thoughts.

All the best, Paul

I'd be up for this (just make sure there's no copywright on those pics [;)])

Jay had done a forum calender waaaaay back in 2004, the members of the site had submitted pics of their cars,I still have mine stashed away in a safe place. (seems like yesterday[:D])

Kind fun re-reading some of those achieved posts too, wonder what happened to some of the old crew???

These days it's so easy to do your own calendar with your own photos or those sent to you with a calendar program and printer (inkjet or colour laser) or get it professionally done by Staples (on line or in stores) etc. It's more personal that way. Might cost a bit more. My brother had some calendars as Xmas gifts of the places he and his wife went camping in BC's wilderness last year. I was thinking of doing a similar thing on my TR7.

no they wern't TR7 specific they were done for our local register club and featured events we attended throughout the year so that unfortunatly had very few 7's but it was a very good idea

no what we could do is all submit photo's on this site and then we can vote which ones go in then we could feature events starring 7's throughout the world and throughout the seasons i mean some of the recent seaside shots we've had on here are well worth being included..

once we have a final draft we can order eneought to be shipped to wherever for those of us to distribute etc etc

as with everything the more we order the cheaper it is

any profit we make can be donated to charity if you like let me find out a bit more info costs etc

<font face="Century Gothic"><font color="purple">Yep it was 'fluffy' who got his pic onto the calendar - from memory he wanted to show off one of his prizes (it was about the size of the Champions League trophy).

I can't remember the costs when I did it, I know I needed a minimum run of about 200, as they were completely custom and not done from a template (I recall the worry that I may have got 31 days in Nov or the start of the month beginning on the same day as the previous ones last day!)

I did a small run of calendars a few years ago for our Yorkshire TR Drivers club area. They were ok and quite cheap so we gave them away. Some excellent cars were featured.
I still have a copy of this one and Jasons 2005 one.

The adverts are all covered by copyright but I can't recall the people you have to contact right now. Be advised though they'll want money off you and I think it's about £10 per picture if based on a small run or on behalf of a club.

Bernard at the TSSC will be able to put you onto the right people as they've had dealings with them.
