Do a search for Rear Disk Brakes and you will get two pages of topics.

S&S preparations do a conversion kit,
http://www.ss-preparations.co.uk/ either pay your money and fit it yourself or they'll fit it for you. That's the easiest option if not the cheapest. I believe a few guys on here have made their own conversions, might be worth typing rear disc conversion into the search box.

Andy, I fitted discs to the 280BHP 8, about 4 years ago, almost by
accident, when I fitted a stronger diff, with an LSD. I used a diff
used in the Nissan Skyline here in Oz, which is a verson of the
diff in our Holden HSV, [high performance] stuff, like the Monaro.
Pontiac GTO in the US, & Vaxhaul Monaro in the UK.

The reason I mention this is, I don't think it cost too much more
for the whole job, than it would have to fit just discs, & you get
the discs for free with the diff change. You might like to look at
a full diff upgrade, before you start.

I did a post on fitting this diff under "Can he break this one? in
2006, & there are photos of it in my photos.

Just one observation, I can detect no improvement in stopping power
with the discs fitted, in fast road usage. The do match the 4 pot
fronts well, but made no change to stopping power. They may be more
fade resistant, but I have never workrd the car hard enough to
induce rear brake fade, even with the drums.

Hi Andy,
Made my own using a mixture of parts, including-

MGF Discs
Audi Quattro Rear Calipers
VW Mark 4 Handbrake cables
Home Made Adaptors for Caliper Mounts

Also contains a 2.84:1 final drive. Hope to 'slot' it in over Easter.
