A mysterious switch???

Postby tracie » 31 Jan 2010 20:22

In my newly purchased 1980 Triumph TR7 there is an amber coloured switch to the right of the rheostat about the size of a household lightswitch, it doesn't appear to do anything.... Should it do anything and if so, what is it? I would love to know, thanks, tracie.

Well it is not a standard fitting, sounds like someone in the past has added a switch to control some extra electrical item. Maybe front fog or spotlights? Electric aerial?

Any wires connected to the switch? If so can you see where they go?

Thanks, Thinking about it, It's probably most likely to be an electric aerial switch, that no longer works!

In my TR8, a previous owner put in two switches to run the main cooling fans. My guess is that the standard temperature switch quit working and the PO simply overrode it. Some day, I'll put it back to original.
