Minilite / Superlite offset.

Postby Bobbieslandy » 16 Jan 2010 14:23

Does anybody know which offset will give me that deep dish look on the rear? ideally i would like wider wheels on the back, nothing too major but they must be 14" or 15" dia to fit a decent set of brake calipers. I can (at a push) roll the rear arches but would rather not because of all making good i'd have to do after!

Thanks again!

Rob.

Had this discussion with lots of wheel companies at Autosports Show yesterday, was told to forget 14" as they are not a popular size with wheel companies or tyre companies. The advice I got was 13" as wide as you want to go then everyone jumps to 15" .

I was told a 15" x 7" Compomotive ML with 0 ET will fit nicely under standard rear arches but I dislike them because they dont have the deep dish look that I want.

I am now considering a deep 13" but needs to clear a decent brake set up.

Cheers, Paul

if decent (adequate for a sprint) stopping power can be fitted into 13" wheels then i'd go for that in a flash. There's a MK1 escort in this months edition of Retro Ford with the exact wheels i want. They're 8x13 superlites with polished rims, way too wide for a TR7 but they don't half look good!

They won't fit under standard rear arches with 0 ET,
They will touch the outer rear arches.

With 24mm ET and 205/50 tyres they shouldn't touch ...

But the tolerances margins on the TR7's body are pretty wide, so better to check first.
