I love forums!

Postby fergie » 31 Dec 2009 10:02

Didnt know where to say hi on here and not sure if this forum is all just technical chat? Just wanted to say hi and thanks in advance for the answers to the no doubt daft questions I will ask[:I]I find forums invaluable for picking the brains of folk who dedicate time and energy to single makes. I have a 1980 Yam XS1100 which I have had great support of forum fixing it, and also made some good friends along the way.

Hope to do the same here

By no means is this forum all technical stuff! Unlike too many other classic British sports cars, TR-7's/8's get driven, taking their owners on spirited drives on twisty roads, on vacations, even to work or to the shops.

Happy New Year to you, and good luck with your TR-7 in 2010.

I'm sure you will. This section is non technical TR7 related stuff with the odd technical stuff and general chat thrown in for variety.

I did have a Yamaha twin jet (one eleventh the engine size[:)])
The only daft question is the one not asked.

Wow! Imagine another Yamaha person showing up here. I have an 80 XS1000 Midnight Special. Bought it as a collector piece. Low miles and I redid the paintwork, brakes, ect. Never ride it though so been thinking of selling when spring comes round.

BTW, found mine on the XS11 forum where I posted a wanted ad. I'm thinking the same one you were on?

Forgot my manners...WELCOME.

Yes John. Hate to beat a dead horse but...I'm still thankful for what I learned about the brake kit from hell on here. Sure saved me a lot of agravation.

Then there was the tip about the Quaife for sale... from Paul I believe. Sometimes this place will save you money, other times it helps you spend it.[;)]

BTW Fergie, I have a 00 Harley also so the Yammy gets neglected. I put new tires on when I got it as well as a new battery. The battery has given up and I don't want to have to clean 4 Mikunis again. They cost money even when they sit. I'd have to get a good price to recoup what I spent on it. Would have to be a collector type I think.
