The Grinch Who Stole Christmas

Postby FI Spyder » 15 Dec 2009 17:56

Time for my annual Christmas poem as time fly's this time of year.

Every one in Triumphville liked Christmas a lot
But the Grinch in MGtown did not
He hated the whole season
No one knows quite the reason
It could be his head was torqued on too tight
It could be his steering wouldn't turn right.
But the most likely reason of all
Was that his MG Midget was two sizes too small
Looking down on Triumphville he said with a sneer
Soon twil be Christmas it's practically here
He growled as heard his con rods a drumming
I must stop Christmas from coming
Tomorrow he knew
The Triumphs would be driving around in a ring
Their drivers would sing and sing sing sing sing
And then there's the thing he hated most of all
When the Triumph drivers, the short and the tall
Would open their pesents then feast feast feast
He then got an idea an awful idea
He made a Santy hat and coat
He tied a Spitfire sign to his boat
When the Triumph drivers were dreaming sweet dreams without care
He stopped at the first house in the square
He slid down the chimney a rather tight pinch
No problem for the Grinch
Being used to hs Midget, he just had to flinch
With a smile most unpleasant, he took every present
All the wheels and the fans, the mirrors and the wrenches
The plugs and seat belts and even workbenches
He cleaned out the garage as quick as a flash
He also took the only spare dash
He let air out of tires of Sixes and Sevens
And took the wires
From all the Spitfires
Turning around he saw Cindy Lou who was only twenty two
She said "Why are you taking my TR3, Why?"
Quick as a wink he thought up a lie
"The Light on the Three won't light on one side"
He winked and said with a sneer
"I'll fix it at home, then bring it back here."
He did the same thing in all the Triumph houses
While the drivers were all asleep with their spouses
He went back to MGtown expecting all Triumphville to frown
When they find no Christmas coming they won't do no humming
With his hand to his ear he heard over the snow
It started down low then started to grow
It wasn't sad but merry
so very very merry
He hadn't stopped Christmas it came just the same
Some say his midget grew three sizes that day
Now that his midget wasn't so tight, he drove down the road in the morning light
He brought back the car goodies and the food for the feast
He even helped carve the roast beast

Merry Christmas to everyone and safe travels to your Christmas destinations.

Brilliant! I can hear Boris Karloff's voice reciting those very lines :)

Merry Christmas,
