My hard top is finished

Actually I need to put on more weatherstripping and a headliner, but visually from the outside it is finished. I have been working on and off on this project for over a year and a half, and it feals really good to have something that looks complete.

It does look like a job nicely done. It does look like there is a fair blind spot. Is this the case? Extra care, shoulder checks, might be the order of the day.

I have not driven enough to know how bad the blind spot is yet. Having good convex mirrors would probably help more than anything.
jclay - No orders yet. I have enough supplies on hand to do one more top, and that will go to Zeke (if he still wants it). Unless I can get a lot faster and better quality with my fiberglassing, there will not be too many of these built. My dream was to build and sell these for around $600, but the cost of supplies and time to build are much higher than I thought it would be. Time will tell. They will go onto the for sale area if it ever gets to that point.

Would it be too rude to respectfully suggest a round port hole there in the blind spot? We have pondered that idea for our TR7 for many years.

Mildred,
You are not the first to suggest a "port hole" window. There is no reason it could not be done, but it does not suit my personal taste. The old t-birds had a port hole window and a few newer chryslers had them too.
I think the blind shot should be only a little larger than what is on a FHC.

RJS,
It doesn't look like the blind spot is much larger than on FHC.
With no top, no blind spot.

Rob, do you have any pics of the interior, and the headder panel latches???
Ron.

The interior is raw fiberglass right now. I will eventually do sound insulation and then some kind of headliner.
I will get some pictures taken in the next few days of the clamps / latches (end / beginning of the month are very busy at work).

Hi Tim,
It took me a while, but with a LOT of advice from you I got one done (at least the fiberglassing part is done).
You have heard about seveal of the mistakes I made along the way and more than anyone, you understand how in the dark I was when I started this project.
Yes it is polycarbonate from Laird (another idea you gave me). I really wanted a little bit of a curve on the back, and the polycarbonate has just enough flex. I still have that back glass from a FHC that I originally was going to use (if anyone needs one).
Are you still doing any fiberglassing or do you have other things going on?

actually this is what I was kinda wanting to see ....ie how it was built + structured [;)]
btw, i really like the size + fittment of the backglass, personally I think a nice add-on would be triangular rear quarter windows resembling the ones on the convertible roof......
