well it looks like the tr7 experment will come to a end , the wheel base is to short to race on nhra tracks . the rules state that the min.wheel base is 90 inches and the tr is 85 inches . if this car was a tr8 then it might be ok becues the car came with a v8 and then you could change the motor to a bigger one and run it. untill the rules change the car is done . any one looking for tr7 body with a narrorew ford nine inch , and 10 point cage .

What you're saying is a bigger engined car can run with a shorter wheel base? Doesn't make sense but... why not put in a Buick 215 aluminum engine (if you can find one) Olds also used it with 10 to 1 pistons @200hp. Bore it if you need bigger displacement for rules. Basically the same engine as TR8, been done before lots of times. Or does making it into a TR8 contravine the rules?

Local track is IHRA. They don't seem to be as strict. As a matter of fact, I just ran my car there today. Rule seems stupid to me. NHRA let Fuel Altereds run which were absolutely evil handling 2000+hp short wheel based creations. Find another track.

this is how the rule reads for nhra, wheelbase, minimum 90 inches, unless car has original engine in oringinal location and is shorter than original, or noted in class requierments. called nhra tech, 626-914-4761 and talked to them and there might be a rule change so untill then i guess as the rule states any one who is running a tr7 with a differnt engine in it cant run on nhra cret. tracks . if you do hope no one checks wheel base and finds its 5 inchs short good luck
