Custom Wheels

I found a company that will make us custom wheels. Our TR8 Alloy wheels in 15", 16" and 17" in aluminum.

We haven't talked price because I would like to open this up to everyone. I am sure that the more we order the lower the price.

Hi jclay,
I have been in contact with a custom wheel supplier to try and get wheels for our TR 7's, below is the response I recieved from Rebecca and a picture of the wheel, if anyone is interested, please contact her, we need about 3 other people willing to buy a set.The specs are: 15" x 6.5" Rota Torque Wheels
Regards!

Hello Bill,

We have to order minimum 5 sets to process the custom order,
Will you be able to get more people in your forum to join in.

Your cost for the custom order is $535/set,
We could customize the bolt, the offset, and hub to fit perfectly to your TR7, and you could pick one color selection.

If you could get at least 3 people, we might be able to help.

Best Regards,
Jessica Lo

My whole idea here was to keep the same design but in a larger size.

Most of the places I posted the information have been giving me flack on safety issues. (Hum? We use MGF wheels with no problems!)

Now the wheel company is giving me flack saying that they are UGLY!

So, Joke Um!!

Dead in the water.

as for the rota wheels , in my experience they are much lighter, stiffer and much cheaper than the competition.

edit:

most wheels look different in various sizes on the car, can anyone try to photoshop the rims to size so we can see how would they look on the car ( i mean the stock tr rims ,not rota's )

jclay,
What are the safety issues? I would have thought our wheels were stronger than some of the more modern ones.
Why does it matter if the manufacturer thinks they're ugly or not? They don't have to use them.

Are you saying this plan is dead in the water? $535 sounds like a decent price for a set to me. Is the company game or not?

Are they saying the cars are ugly or their wheels? It would be nice to have more choices for tires. I checked TireRack and there are only 3 options there for stock 13" 185/70s.

The company that sells them says they are ugly. Then why sell them? And who cares what they think anyway. Orange Rag bought a set of wheels from someplace in the States for reasonble money. Had them custom drilled from blanks. one set. I will email him and try to get him to post his info.

The product is Superlite, Australian made but distributed out of Prescott Arizona. They were about the price you are taking or less. I went with 15" and a 205/50 tire, it was with in a 1/4" of the original so didn't affect speeddo. (but then my cable broke, to much power)

Is there a nickname already given our TR8 alloy wheels?

I have been calling them the "Blooming Onion" (style) wheels. [:o)] [:D]

They remind me of the Outback Steakhouse blooming onion appetizer/sidedish. [^]

Maybe someone could just import a sea crate of MGF wheels from across the pond?

I realy like the Multi-spoke 16" 75LE, and also 16" anthracite multispoke listed on that site. If I could find a set of these I would put them on the white 7
