So it is just a typical RV8 conversion but with a more powerful & much more expensive Rover V8. Useful info about using the Land Rover TDi radiator.

Not much news in there - looks like my own engine bay...

Apart from me having PS and AC, and the fact I decided to keep the ignition coil in its original position on the radiator carrier
plus I routed the hot water feed to the rear of the vent stack (to make room for the AC compressor and its bracket)
it's just another case of "great minds think alike..." [:D]

<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">No 1st hand experience I'm afraid. But as far as I know it's just a 4.5 litre variantof the engine. Externally it should be the same.

Have you already got one yet? If not there may be cheaper ways to make more power.

Approx 5 years ago I bought two complete TVR450 engines. I stripped them down to the short blocks and reassembled them to according to my specific requirements. There are quite a few differences between a normal Rover V8, but suprisingly few performance upgrades. These are all the differences from the normal 4.6 that I can remember:

Oil pan was steel Land Rover type except no oil level sensor hole and the shallow end of the pans were "modified" ~1/2" because of the longer 4.6 stroke.

Intake plenum has a 450 emblem and the intake runners were shorted by 1 inch. Valve covers have TVR emblem.

Custom chip for the ECU.

Pistons have 4 cuts for high lift valve clearance. TVR(part#) camshaft with large amount of lift and duration. Vernier(infinitly adjustable) timing chain.

Cyl heads were stock. Comment: Makes no sense because if I could only make one modification to any RV8 it would be cyl head work.

1995 RR classic type distributor with remote amp. NGK part# B7ECS spark plugs.

Intermediate front engine cover. Power steering pump replaced with "a large bearing". Alternator mounting bracket lowers alternator (but not enough to close a TR8 bonnet). Serp belt part# ERR5267 ~1850mm long. No A/C.

One engine had a factory made 27lb flywheel. The other one had an 18lb flywheel with a TVR part# on it. The standard RoverV8 flywheel weighs 32lbs.

Randall,
what are you hiding in the lower right corner of the picture? [;)]

Computer is under the alum cover. You can see the fat cable running towards it. There is a small 12V fan mounted to the hole in the inner fender. When the radiator fan comes on, the small fan comes on also. ECU does not get hot(or wet) under the cover due to ventilation from the fan and the hole itself.

Here is a picture of the TVR "power steering pump" and the belt:
