could be the oil level in the gearbox or the oils condition.could be the clutch fluid level/condition or worse case gearbox is dieing.I have just got myself a new box pm me for the link to the cheapest source if you need to.Hope more knowledgeable people have better news for you.[:(]

The gearbox isn't going to wear out during the course of a drive so let's ignore for a moment something bent or broke. Most likely the clutch is draging. The clutch may still work I would think but shifting would be more difficult to shift. This would be caused by low fluid level (where did it go?) and your master and/or slave clutch cylinder may be leaking. If clutch fuid is down, check for fluid on firewall or inside under carpet. If none, there it's the slave. Hopefully a rebuild will work. Let's hope it's not internal stuff which is the last thing to be checked as it's the most difficult and most expensive to fix.

If all the gears are difficult it will usually be the clutch but could also be a lack of oil in the box or something loose or worn in the gear shift mechanism.

How do you know the clutch is working? Is the fluid level in the master res OK? Check the system for leaks & do a bleed of the system.

Never say die. At least not while you're still breathing.

I had the same issue with a difficult gearchange. It happened about half an hour before the fulcrum pin finally wore its way through the clutch lever arm.

The clutch pedal became solid after this.

Thanks for all the replies.
I thought the clutch was still working as I was'nt crashing the gears, But after looking during a break in the rain, my master is leaking looks like a rebuild is on the cards.
