If you follow this link http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C116070/ you will find a "TR8 replica works car" for sale for £39995
I may be wrong on some of these details but
A replica should have 2 or 4 DCOEs
It should not have a standard brake servo and master cylinder.
A 1976 works car would be a 16 valve version.
A 1976 car should be in the white colour scheme.
No external pull switches for electrical cut off and extinguisher
Wheels far too wide for current MSA Historic rally specs
No mention of a rear disc braked axle
No mention of works type rear suspension
Awful auxiliary pods for gauges on dash top
Radio aerial still in place (the standard electric one for a radio cassette)
Wrong type bumpers
TR8 badge which it should never have – should be TR7V8
Standard fuel tank and filler
No works type jacking points.
American type lamp units in front and rear wings
No steady bars for the lamps – like they’ll stay in place on a stage!!
Nothing like the works interior – standard dashboard, no cut off switches for example
Those seats look highly suspect to me – very unlikely to be pukka competition seats and are certainly not works type!
Pathetic harnesses going over the standard prear parcel tray into the boot which means no firewall!!!
Already said quite a bit about the engine bay but where are the fire extinguisher nozzles then?
No works type fuel tank and an electric fuel pump “exposed†in a boot which is not firewalled from
the cockpit
Cross drilled discs are visible – nothing like the works spec AP racing brakes
