Electric Windows

Postby BobMG » 29 Sep 2009 13:46

Hi all, new to this formum but been slowly converting to V8 for 19 years! [:D] Mad really.

I am not finding anyone to sell me an electric windows kit or anywhere else I can get the bits that will fit without huge effort.

The car is a late drop head triton green square peg 7 soon to be V8.

Any ideas?

Cheers B

Welcome [;)], but why do you want an electric window kit, it only adds weight ...

Oh and being electric probably will give all kinds of trouble [:D]

I'd like the elctric window kit as well.

Unfortunately Robsport no longer stock them as they used to?

Does anyone have one they never got round to fitting they would be prepared to sell?

I incountered a problem .[V]

it does not have enough power to lift the windows
after all the work .

SO I decided to look for something similar to the the one they used to sell specially for our cars

I found it in a nissan maxima /rear windows in a junk yard
here is a pic so you can see it.
I have not tried, as of yet ,to see if it will work ,
I will keep you informed.

My windows were very difficult to wind when I got my car, in fact I had to lift the window as I wound the handle. I replaced the felt front and rear tracks, flushed to old grease out of the winder mechanism and put in synthetic grease, put new inner and outer door seals/weatherstripping. This made them easier to wind up and down and after using them for a while they have gotten progressively easier to wind as things wear in.
