Drag Race Video

First time trying this so hope it works. Taken at the recent Summer Party. Not my best run with a stumble & red light. Did get it down to a couple 13.70s and best of 13.61 @ 100.45mph.

Now that looks like fun, thinks you left the other chap behind a little.
Well done. I have bought things from the roadster factory recently and really fancied a trip to the summer party.

Cheers

Looks pretty quick to me. The gear changes sound unusual. What box have you got & how do you get the change done so quickly?

Stock LT77 box. What we here refer to as powershifting. Something I learned as a teenager and had a lot of broken parts on my old Ford to show for it. [;)] You hold the throttle to the floor the whole run. Stab the clutch & pull the gearshift at the same time as fast as you can. Done right the engine doesn't have enough time to over rev. Not many there doing it I'm sure. Seeing as I only live an hour and 1/2 from the track and have a spares for most of the drive line makes me a little braver. [}:)] I have a rev limmiter also...just in case.

BTW, our slang for regular shifting, leting off the gas in between is called "Granny Shifting"[:D]

Good stuff. She's reving nicely there.
I do lift when changing gear, but you can change gear quite quickly with an LT77 without crunching the gears. Quite a strong gearbox.

Yes, from what I've seen of Tricky's car and your setup Phil, I'm not too frightened of breaking things with a 3.9. The weak link now appears to be the stock clutch. I did 5 runs, the first 3 in rather quick succession. I could tell the clutch was starting to slip on the 3rd run and the MPH fell off. I let it cool down for about 45 minutes and it did it's best time & MPH. I hope to be able to fund one of Wedgeshop's flywheel & clutch setups this winter.

I have another vid from the autocross I will put up soon. My buddy and his TR4 got thier revenge there. [:(] Just got the camcorder last week so this is a bit new for me.
