cant stop smiling

decided this afternoon to finish around 4 and try and start the engine on the spider, 4 years after starting resto, 3 years after engine rebuild, major wiring mods to loom, money has been tight and i need some parts and have been putting it off. However dug out old dizzy cap, mixed bag of leads, and the a gallon of petrol damn nothing. after a 10 minute head scratching session realised feed and return lines of fuel rail backwards. Then OH YES fired up within seconds. i'm smiling from ear to ear. had to stop due to petrol running all over floor, i need spring clips for fuel hoses onto tank friction fitted for purpose of testing. Me thinks i will be going in early tomorrow to play for a while oh and i wouldnt be surprised if i finish early. with money due in and the final push under way i can see the end at last. i also have target of moving from current unit end of july to get complete. there is no way i will be ready for billing but maybe malvern could be a more relistic target, To be fair i'd be more than happy just to go to local club meeting.( in a proper car ) [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]

Nice [:)] always a great feeling when she fires up properly. I will be attempting the same very soon (new, well...ok, used engine just installed in my 7 [8D])

Glad thing s are coming together at last. I made the first show last weekend in my TR7 Sprint. It's a great feeling firstly to pass the mot and then to go to local show.

Keep us all informed. I also had plenty of fuel problems on the route to success. Partly Filled the petrol tank up and the fuel was pouring out at the sender, must be part of the breaking in process. Before you ask it was a new tank and sender seal. I had to change the sender unit due to a leak in the flange where the pipe goes through.

Hope you can still make it to Billing, even if not in the TR7 Spider and will be looking out for your car at Malvern.

Brilliant another TR7.
Don't rush the final stages think of your safety.
It's such a result when you are breathing in petrol & exhaust fumes and a bit of oil & grease! can't beat it.[:)]

No wont do that, but i have got a deadline end of July. its just a matter of refitting parts. here my list please advise.

1. get seats recovered, i have material and a company to do it at a good price.

2. get wheels refurbised and tyres fitted( ideas on best brands )

3. Fit propshaft, buy new or fit 2nd hand one i bought off tr-tony 2 years ago.

4. fit screen, door cards dash trim etc 2 - 3 good days i reckon

5. fit roof i have brand new one, to do myself or get someone in any one had experiece, im sure theres a link on here

6. tidying up a few bit and bobs, recharge aircon. mot then hopefully
its happy days

Always nice to hear it start after the work. At 34 lbs. fuel pressure YOU NEED CLIPS.[:)]

If fuel lines are old or age unknown replace them with 50lb lines. Not expensive if bought in bulk and cut to size. My old ones had a pin hole that shot out spider web sized fuel stream. (see other post).

absolutly if its considered good enough to grace the stand. its local to me as well. maybe getting ahead of myself, as i mentioned i have got to be out of my unit by the end of july ideally with car complete i think thats my goal for the time being but loads of boxes ticked which is a good thing. body and paint done, all electrics completed & working, and it runs. I am still aware af the amount there is quite a lot left to do but in each small session if i can get one more item done its possible i vcan come in on time. Doesn't help i have quite a bit of work on as well...
