Ta da !

Postby nofinchance » 21 Jun 2009 19:12

I have spent all weekend on my knees and other positions up to my arm pits in glue, waxoil and muck fitting my replacement Interior[:I].It was not as easy it looked what with the rain drizzling down every time I put the roof back to do something[:(!].Also I needed six pairs of hands for some jobs but it's in at last. The drivers side window has decided to jam half way so that door panel is not on properly as further investigation is needed when my knees can take it! I had to jif everything as it was used and the back board was coverd with a black cloth that left glue to be removed.I am attaching before during and after pic,s .I do not have the seats [:(] sadley but everything else is now tan.[img][/img] [img][/img] [img][/img] [img][/img]

When you have removed the impossible, the improbible how ever unlikely has to be the truth.

Thanks both.I am gonna try for billing as I was promised help with those pesky lights.[;)].I had a lot of trouble getting the trim in.nothing worth doing is easy.I was hamperd by missing screws and such as previous owners had broke, removed or just prayed to the god of gravity to hold the centre console in.[:D] among other things.I ache a bit now but am well chuffed.

Great effort. You feel old now but your youth will come back when you drive it.

No matter how many clothes pins you use, it is still to heavy for the line[:D].

I assume those are to hold up a new vinyl piece under the sunvisors? If so, that is an awesome idea!! sticking that piece up has got to be the hardest part of an interior restore!! I just put up my second a week or so ago and I wish I had seen that picture first.

Looks good, if my carpet ever arrives I should have my 8 done shortly.

Those tan sunvisors look good as new-did you get them recently and where from, or did you just get lucky?[:p]envy envy.

Very nice [:)] Isnt it satisfying to have such a nice finished product. I will be doing the same in a week or two. (changing my tan w/brown carpeted interior for black w/red-chek door panels and red carpeting. Should complement my black dash and console well [:D] )

The pegs are holding the windowscreen top trim in while the glue dries! that was one of the hardest parts lineing that up while the glue splurged out and I tried not to let it land on my new carpets and it kept dropping off at one end before I could stick the other down. All the trim is second hand and was a bit dirty.I scrubbed it all with cream kitchen cleaner and a nail brush then hot soapy water then a kitchen spray cleaner. Then left it to dry in the sun.I would not like the job of fitting it again ying and yang eh if someone else is going tan to black. My only advice is fit the sill carpets and rear carpet and vinal before the large center carpet or it gets in the way and gets marked. Also you will need to remove the lower dash housing I tried to manage and it is not possible.also dont forget the hanbrake gaiter needs to go under the centre carpet then through the cubby box part.Good luck and get a kneeling pad !
