It was nice meeting Ron ,who I was unaware of, and Jim with the GREENEST car imaginable, and would have liked to have met more. Had no idea this thread was going on here. Actually ,never even clicked on this before.[:I]

Never seen so many. I think Jim said it was a total of 21. Has there ever been a combined event with that many?

It was a perfect weekend and enjoyed meeting the "Wedge Heads" and viewing some beautiful cars.
Here's a couple pixs more to follow.
Cottage on the way down the coast ($79.00) great place.

Lots of racing indeed. No Wedges racing; too new for these vintage folks. For some reason, the 2 1/2 litre TR6 and Vitesse were racing with the big bore group including 911s and Corvettes, while the 3 litre Healeys were in the small bore group.

This guy was having fun in the slalom.

This TR4 driver wasn't having so much fun at this point.

Went down on Friday to catch race day. Very warm (hot). A Cool wind swept in at night and blow two branches down (didn't hit anything) and something metal fell on something (I think a motorhome got it). Cool Saturday with the show. Met all the guys. Watched races with Ken (LastTR) and his family. Woke up at 5:51am Sunday to train whistles, sirens and every dog in their motorhome howling back so decided to get up. Ron was too sleepy for breakfast so went alone. Bought an expansion tank with probe for $5 (to replace mine with pin hole in seam). It was 10:09am and the weather was looking pretty threatening and didn't want to pack my stuff away wet so punched in Port Angeles Ferry in my GPS and I had time to make it back so by 10:19am I was packed ready to go (a record in de-tenting and packing up). Turned on the wipers three times on the way but in northern Washinton it was nice but rained on Monday so right decision. Sorry didn't get to say goodby Jim and Ken. Thanks Ron for getting the duty free Captain Morgan's Rum (one per person) for me.

Here's the link to slideshow of my pictures. Enough racing pictures to get Hasbeen's blood flowing.

I think everyone who attended this year's Portland ABFM had a great time. There was one annoying detail that I would like to see addressed before next year, though. We had a terrific showing of 20 or 21 Wedges. In the People's Choice balloting there is but one class combining all Wedges, 7s and 8s, coupes and roadsters. There are two classes for TR6s, one through 1974, one post '74. There were two classes for Sunbeams, one for Alpines (4 bangers) and one for V8 Tigers. There are a multitude of classes for MGBs, including chrome bumper, rubber bumper, GT coupes, and V8s. There are several classes for MGAs, including a separate category for coupes. Some classes, including Sunbean Alpine and rubber bumper MG Midgets, only had two entrants. It's time for us to get at least a separate class for 7s and 8s. I have emailed the presidents of the Portland Triumph Owners Association and the Columbia Gorge MGA Club (I belong to both groups) to ask them push for this. A few more emails might help. anybody out there want to add their 2 cents worth?

Ken ,a very fine idea.
Still have no shot at anything though. Not that I am looking. Us 7 V8's are still black sheep.
