The more I think about it the more I'm inclined to toss in my tent and sleeping bag and come over for the whole event. Where do you camp? Next to the cars or in a special area? Does the registration fee cover the whole event including camping? Can you drive in and out during the day? Or once the cars are in place are you stuck there for a period of time? If I came over on Fri can I camp Fri and Sat? Are there shower facilities? So many questions. So many decisions. So little time.

May as well come for the whole weekend. The registration covers the whole weekend and all three days of racing.

Camping is amongst the trees along the front straight. You can come Friday to camp.

Not sure but I think they want your car there during the show hours (Saturday) but after that you can come a go as you please. The gates are locked during the night (something like midnight to morning. Times are on the website.

Showers??? Who needs showers this is a he-mans event...don't need no stinking showers. No, seriously don't know, maybe Jim has a more knowledge on that.

As you are past the preregistration date you can register at the gate.

Take a week off and come a week early. Lot's to do in Portland during the week between the races and the wedding. Visit the air/space museum at McMinnville. Worth spending the whole day.

Absolutely. Come early, stay late. There's lots to do in the Portland area, including great beer and great music. I just got back from seeing Bob Dylan and John Mellencamp at McMenamins.

This is going to be a great finish to the summer, we should set up a wedge group camp site over by the trees on the far side of the field. Along with a tent I'm bringing Canadian beer (small supply) and red wine handed out at a British show here on the island. As long as you keep a low profile on the drinking (evenings around the camp site) no one seems to mind.
I just put the engine back in the car yesterday and should have it running by Tuesday. Need some exhaust work done and ready to go early (5:30am) Thursday morning. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the show.

Sorry I've taken so long to chime in. I just got back from the beach and the maiden voyage of my F-150 since I replaced the head. Anyway, I'll be camping out with a non-wedge friend from Seattle. He is non-Triumphant again this year, neither his Spitfire or GT6 are able to make it, apparently. So he will be camping out of a beige Ford Focus. He usually has a green Triumph banner too. I plan to get out there around noon Friday. The forecast is for 82 on Friday then cooling to the low 70s for the weekend, and no rain! I'll bring my custom top just in case. [:D] I look forward to seeing you all there.

It's Alive.

Turn key last nite after re & re of drive train, seems to run fine, clutch is much better. Going for exhaust work today and then pack the trunk for departure early tomorrow morning. Seems like I've been planning a "D" invasion. Lets hope nothing falls off (I'm packing tools).

Good plan, I need to pack too. It's a bit easier for me since I'm only 10 minutes from the field. I do have to help my son move to Olympia today so all of my packing will be last minute.

Oh, and as of this morning there are 623 cars registered. Merv's Spider makes a total of 20 Wedges!

Let me preface this post by saying that weather forecasters are often wrong. They have changed the forecast for this weekend. They are calling for rain showers Sunday and Monday now. I guess I'll have to keep my custom top ready.

I believe we counted 20 Wedges at the ABFM car show today, including mine, Jim's, Merv's, Ron's, and Cale's. Jim's new paint looks as good in person as it does in his photos. The weather was pretty good, neither too hot nor rainy, but I opted out of camping to spend a little more time with my family. Back for the swap meet and more races tomorrow. I'll try to get some photos up when I get home, and I'm sure others will, too.

At 7:45 AM on Saturday, mine (left) was the third car on the field. Jim's (center) was second to arrive.

Wedges just kept arriving. My MG-owning brother-in-law was working the front gate; he was just amazed at the number of Wedges.

Nice modified Wedge in a row. I didn't get the owner's name.

I counted at least 19 Wedges by late morning, about 2/3 were Eights. I think at least one more arrived after my count.

Thanks Ken. I don't know who the guy in the hat was, but he was selling a nice '81 TR8. White with blue interior. Did anyone hear how much he was asking for it?
