If fact it close to fire engine green, the colour easiest seen in low light conditions (twilight) unlike red which is the colour least seen at twilight. That's why you see some fire engines painted this colour rather than the traditional red.

I take it you have decided to get it then what engine are you going for as you are not restricted with the rally rules 4.6?

Possibly going to get a race engine built for the red car not to far down the track, so may be a 3.9 looking for a home! (4.6 would be very nice though)

Couldn't say no, it moved in to it's new home yesterday - my shed! [:D]

Took a quick pic before it disappears into the depths of the shed not knowing when it will re-appear!? (this one will be a much slower build/resto than the last two, road car only, not race, so no time restraints!)

Will just gather up bits and pieces as I go/funds allow - funds being the deciding factor [:(]

No worries though, I still get to go out and play in the 'red' one [:D]

Great, another serious TR7 addict [:D]

Curious already how the car will re-emerge in time [:)]

Ron, those wheels are the same as I have on my 7. I like them, as
they look right for the cars age. See my photo's for some pics of
mine.

There are quite a few of them around Oz, with the right centre hole,
so they must have been marketed for 7s here.

They are Performance 13 X 6JJ, & mine were anodised gold, [quite
rough] when I got them. It took a day each, to sand & polish them
to get the polished finish.

With mine, the centre caps were missing, but I found a BMW cap that
fitted, & was nicely chromed under the BMW logo.

Nadg, I think that's the perfect approach. Makes it a pleasure, with
no pressure, that is, until you suddenly find some event you want to
get it finished for.

Hiya.

Well colour is a very personal thing, but I'm not convinced on the pale green. But sometimes these more unusual colours do grow on you as an individual, so I appreciate why folks end up choosing them.

I think it's happened to me just recently with my gold 7. Never on this earth would I have chosen 'old man gold' - but after a couple of years of ownership, I quite like it. And probably wouldn't change it if it were in need of a respray. Funny that.

Wheels are a bit similar, I think. And I really like the look of those alloys. I think it's the deepish dish that sets them off for me.

Nice project BTW. Oh, think you need to think long and hard before you weld the roof up (especially, as you already have a tin top). They are very pleasant to drive with them open, without all the water ingress problems of a DHC. Of course, they don't give the same experience as a DHC.

Cheers,

Shaun.

Yeah! I don't see the point of welding the roof up
Keep the sun roof and you allways got the option of open or closed [8D].

Wheels are indeed as per Hasbeens info, 13"x6".

Ironic that you like them, I don't particularly - will be making way for at least 15" Superlites, (Minilite replicas), eventually.

13" wheels just look so old these days, especially up against the 17' and 18" wheels my regular cars run: also the car will be getting forest flares before it ever sees the light of day again so going to need bigger wheels to fill them. [:)]

Can't wait for you to get started on your new project [:p].
Love the look with forest flares and bigger wheels to fill the arches [}:)] [8D].
The red one looks ace [:)].
