The sprint lump turned up this afternoon. Initial feelings are of disapointment. The engine came minus inlet manifold, exhaust manifold, There's a 2" diameter plug in the base of the block with two pipes coming out of it which looks like it went to an oil cooler!?!? anyway the engine has been tipped up so both the metal pipes have been squashed and have split, the dizzy has been smashed, and the sump has been dented and all this cost me £215.
Good points, what little oil there is on the dipstic appears clean, it comes with the flywheel and clutch, he threw in (literally) two SUs which seem to be full of water, erm i think that's about it.
Now it can either get far worse or far better as i start to strip it.
Not happy.
