Having settled could you not buy it back for scrap value so you or someone else could put it back on the road? My son did that with the Mini he squashed (although they gave him a lousy settlement). Scrap value was £50. It is now stripped and looking for a new shell.

Didn't want to deal with the salvage title if I bought the car back, nor did I want to deal with stripping her and shipping the various parts out. I'm happy for now....
