<font color="maroon"><b>The previous owner had already converted the front brakes to

Standard Ford Capri 2.8i discs and calipers

As tomorrow I have to do the other side I will take more photos of

the aluminium conversion spacer that the previous owner fitted as part of the Capri conversion

Hi Steve
Did you clean the protective coating off the discs? It looks a little like it may still be on there in the last pic. It will ruin the new pads.

Cheers Troy

It won't Steve, the greenstuff pads have a running in material on their faces anyway as part of the compound in the first layer it wont matter if you have cleaned the discs.

The covering just helps them wear in evenly and smoothly rather than pitting or cracking.

Steve or any one else who may have done this conversion.

I am still a little in the dark here. In my research on EBC part #s for what Steve has done GD200 states that this rotor is a solid face 9.489 wide and 0.394 thick.

In the picture Steve posted it appears that the rotor is a vented one. Is this the GD200 or another rotor? This is where I am confused. Also If EBC sold a rotor that is stated to be for a TR7 why would it still need to be machine to fit?

I don't want to order something and find out that it is not what I wanted.

Can anyone clear the fog for me?

Steve

Now I understand, you have the rotors from the 2.8 Ford Capri to go along with the calipers. Then the PO had the spacer made up to adjust for the difference in old rotor height.

Thank you for providing the information. Let us know how this change works out.

Also do you have the 4 speed rear wheel cylinder or do you have rear disc?
