Thanks for the blow up Beans, what did you use, an electron
microscope?

I do know those spacers well. I believe polly subframe bushes make
the biggest improvement to a 7s handling of all the polly bush
replacements, & have fitted them to all my 7s. I still can't see
them in that photo, in the add.

In fact, I had to do an emergency dash with some of that stuff, a
few years back.

My son, Who was home for a short leave, & I had had the sump off the
4.6L in the 8, [for panel beating, to stop the No1 con rod hitting
it], which involved lowering the subframe. As it was going back
together, his best mate from school turned up. They had a lot of
catching up to do, so I was sent down the house, while they finished
the job together.

Well, they almost finished the job, but, as often happens when
people change, in the middle of a job, no one tensioned the near
side subframe bolts.

A couple of days later, on a late sunday afternoon, when he was on
his way back to Sydney [1100Km away] I got a call from a town a
couple of hundred Km along the way. The thing was not feeling too
good. It was not too good because the near side front subframe nut,
spring washer, large flat washer, lower bush, & spacer, had all
fallen off, & the handling was more than a bit sloppy. This
sloppyness was aided by the fact that ther rear subframe bolt was
very loose, as well. Fortunately the bolt, & the rest of the gear
was still there. Could I bring some stuff to patch it up.

I had the necessary stuff on my spares car, & 4 hours later he was
on his way. This time his mother joined him. I don't know if this
was to go to see her mother, in Sydney, to keep him company, or
because she somehow believed her being there would somehow stop more
things falling off.

I never have been able to understand why women do anything. I know
she damn near froze to death, in the topless 8, through the
mountains, on a cold winters night. The boy was new enough to
convertibles, that only a flood of biblical proportions would make
him put the top up.
