So, if you want it dirt cheap, take the TR7 head off, remove timing front end. Fit a water connector to rear of 16V head to mimic the 8V, fit 16V head making sure no interference (no chance with UK TR7 pistons!), fit 16V timing front end incl. pully. Fit 16V inlet manifold, fit 8V under carb water feed for heater, etc to 16V manifold, fit TR7 SUs, fit special 16V exhaust manifold , merge 16V and TR7 carb linkage (a bit of brazing) and drive away [8D]

Don't forget the 16v head (Sprint or Dolomite Sprint) was not imported to North America as it didn't meet the emissions requirements and they didn't have the money to make it meet them especially when they could drop in the Rover V8 for the performance and meet the emissions standards. That means that the head and auxillary parts would have to be shipped from UK, etc. quite expensive. Similarly any donor car would have to be imported from UK or Europe and if that is the case it would probably be to good to break. We can't go to local auto wreckers and pick one up.
