If pushed, I might call my silver TR7V8 the 'Silver Machine'. All together now ... 'I got a Silver Machine'.

Mine is Trumpo.

It was actually named by a passer by. On the day I picked it up, I parked it in the drive, went inside to grab a drink, then sat on the porch staring at it (the car, not the drink). A bloke walked up the drive and asked if I wanted any trees taken out in the garden, and gave me his card. As he passed the car, he said "Nice Trumpo, mate"

It stuck.

My wife calls it "That F&*@!#^ thing"

My wife calls mine The Mistress & as a consequence she won't drive it because that would be too kinky in an analogous sort of way but then if she was maybe a bit more open-minded about that kind of thing then I wouldn't be putting all that energy into cars!

Erm, I think I've said too much .. so just forget I said anything... actually just forget I even existed ok.

One of them is "Luscious Brown". The other hasn't been christened yet.

Jeffremj, those wheels look great on that car. What are they?

I don't usually name cars - completely HATE them being referred to as 'she' arrrgggghhhhhhh [xx(]

We (whole family) just refer to them as:

Dads car
Mams car
The Discovery
The red one
The yellow one
The green one (which one is that Dad?)
The silver one
the gold one, and
the other red one [:D]

Makes life simple.

My good buddy Tim Lanocha has what I call "Not Right". I just shake my head everytime I see or think about the car. But typically with 800hp this one has the sneakers to put it down on the pavement!

Stevie,if i had a fiver every time my 4.6 got called a TVR,i'd have

When I started with building up the car after it came back from the paint shop, I found out that the nuts, that were welded on as an extra mounting point for the 4-point harness, were to small and of hardened steel.
After hours of trying to widen up the hole and retapping it, braking three taps in the process, I got slightly frustrated and started swearing a bit [:I].

In the end I decided to grind of the two bolts with an angle grinder but even that took way over an hour lying on my back in a rather awkward position under the car.

So while I was happily grinding and swearing along, a friend came in quietly, unfolded a deck chair to make himself comfortable and opened a bottle of beer. After he settled down quietly, he shoved a rather big hammer under the car with the comment “here’s something to throw at 't Kreng" (Dutch for The Bitch).

The name stuck [:D]
