I'd finished with the buffer and made sure it was clean side up when i put it down, it always gets slung in the washing machine after anyway.

After all that I'm almost too scared to ask about your thoughts on the 1976 Lombard rally graphics i bought and will be fitting in a few weeks! It will have the sprint engine in by then so will at least have a decent turn of speed to match the looks. I'm assuming it's going to have a decent turn of speed, i have no idea what to expect!

I bought a front and rear hard polybush kit from Robsport today, along with some things for the engine swap such as gaskets, HT leads, Plugs, spin on oil filter conversion and filter, braided hoses, couple of bottom ball joints, strut top bearings, Engine hoses, Clutch release bearing (going to modify the arm), two rear dampers and gaiters for the front ones, throttle cable and brake / reversing switches. The missus thought the time i booked off of work in april was for a holiday. Mwahahahaha.

I don't think my TR7 would reach the 180 or so MPH it would take to get any kind of useful downforce, it was purely for cosmetic reasons!

The garage is full of stuff that was in the shed. I tore it down before it came down on its own and if you look closely you'll see a concrete base for my new workshop which is coming on Wednesday. When it turns up half of that stuff will go in there, the rest will go down the tip and the TR7 can go back in the garage. It's all in hand!

Rob.

For a DHC I'd probably vote yes for a wing but with the tin roof it looks a bit inconsequential.

I thought about applying the 'red' works decals for my car to enhance its presence at events [8D] but I decided that without the wheel arches it would look a bit fraudulent. Although, Rimmers have a pic of a red car with just the basic decals which looks ok in a 70s sort of way. http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/SubCategory ... TR8--m-222

The white works colour scheme is less brash though so I think it would work even for a street car. Go for it! If you use vinyl decals you can always undo it AND it will protect from stone chips. [:)]

The early white rally cars wern't as aggressive as the later ones, I might just get away with it!

I got the graphics from a designer called Donna Coupe, i'm sure she won't mind me forwarding her email address....

donna@dcoupe.fsworld.co.uk

The price which was on the right side of £300 seems like a lot until you count up how many seperate pieces there are then it's not too bad at all. She did a fantastic job too, well recommended.

it's actually very light, i have no idea what it's made from but if you imagined making a spoiler shaped mold and filling it with expanding foam you'll not be too far off!

Glad to hear the graphics are getting the thumbs up! i'd hate to go to a car show and get slated for ruining the car. which would of happened if i'd fitted that spoiler!

Looks like you are copying BRP (Raider's TR7 Sprint) [:)]

Have Raider ever hit that spoiler off the front of his rally car?

I have one of those for my car and I thought it may be a bit low.

You wanna be careful.. if you put the graphics on you will have to put minilites on, then you'll want spots... etc. etc.

Croydebay, Yes and yes! Wedggie, yeah i got the joke, in the second pic you can bearly see whats holding the front wheels up, almost like it's committing Hari kary into the garage of doom (or surplus novelty purchases!) BirminghamTr7, guess you'd use cuprinol instead of twopack on that spoiler, i once saw a Nova saloon with a similar set up which was made out of MDF. Me laughing got the two of us into a car chase then a fight. i was still right though!

As for Raiders TR7 sprint, yes that's what i'm aiming for. admitedly i hadn't seen it, i'd only seen sprint TR7 rally cars on a google image search and have a corgi model upstairs which gave me inspiration! but no rally car is complete without quad spots and deep dish minilites. The ones on BRP are similar to the ones rimmers sell, i'm not keen on the way the spokes are flush with the rims, especially on the back. still, they're a massive improvement on the ones i'm sporting! Did all the rally cars have those mahoosive mudguards?

I didn't know Corgi did a Lomabard TR7. There's another useless trinket I have to buy. The Ixo models are the better ones though. They even have the mudguards. http://cgi.ebay.com/1-43-ixo-Triumph-TR ... 53dffebe4b

Sorry, it's a corgi welsh rally TR7, not Lombard. Donna gave me the choice and i opted for the lombard stickers. Mine's looking a bit worse for wear after suffering a head on with another car on the Study desk top stage and yes i was making brum brum noises[:I]
