Hello and welcome Hoops, I was the one on Retro Rides that recommended you look in on here. Good luck with your search.

Do you know, I just realised. I thought I recognised your car. You bought it off one of the Yoof members! It won an award at the TR Register International Weekend for best non-TR.

I have a lot more pics if your interested [;)]

Wow, thats random. i bought it of a former TDC member (who was a couple of years younger than me iirc), and wondered what that award was for in the boot [:D]
Its just about the same as back then, but with Sprint alloys (should have bought the revolutions and painted the inners black).

always have loved the shape of the dollys, used to be one parked on a drive yearssssss ago that one of my neighbours was doing up, and used to chat to him quite a lot.

and your insurance on that is cheaper than my boys got on his 306, and my other sons paying about a ton more for his mx5

Welcome Hoops! My dad had a yellow Dolomite Sprint when I was in my 20's (in my 50's now!) he only let me drive it once, and he was in the car so I had to go easy [:(!]. I'd love to have one now, yours looks great! However I don't think the wife will tolerate 2 old Triumphs on the driveway

Cheers!

The Dolomite looks spectacular. I've only seen one in person here in the US but always liked them.

The TR-7 is a wonderful car for the enthusiast owner, very capable of daily use and spirited driving.

Just a quick one, as the car is going to be stored outside, will a DHC be ok when subjected to the damp weather we get in the midlands?

Depends on the condition of the hood.
If it is in good shape and fitted properly it should be fairly waterproof.

my dhc is outside all the time and currently suffering from weather ingress but hood does need replacing, but as long as it wont get pinched you can always buy one of the cheap car covers that go over the top half to keep the weather out.

My hood is original and although looks new is noticeably stiffer. In light misty rain it is pretty good and dry in a downpour while driving. However while setting outside overnight at Portland All British Field Meet the first night it rained the drivers side was damp, probably dependant on wind direction. Later in the morning it rained steady all morning and water did trickle down the inside of the side windows a little dampening the copy of the original bill of sale. No doubt a new hood would fare better but they don't have the sealing of a modern ragtop and I would want to at least have it stored under a tarp shead or leanto.
