Nah, that's not an exhaust - that's a dead body hanging out the boot[;)]

Apart from the corpse - a very tidy car!

Sshhhh! How else was i going to get the car for free? That's a mean looking track weapon you have there Swifty! I'm really diggin the front spoiler, fit and finish looks spot on. I must get one for my TR once the important bits are all paid for. Whats she packing under the bonnet? i bought myself a Rover 400 rear spoiler from ebay a few days back, brand new and unpainted for £40 delivered (they got loads) and it's the right width across the bootlid. Thing is it's got "curves" in it, i'm not sure what these are as i've searched my land rover and TR7 for them but apparently they're good for Aerodynamicus or something. all i know is it looks like it will fit it just somehow don't look right. we'll see once the weather clears up and i stick it on with double sided tape. I'll make sure i take some pics and put it to the jury to decide.

Yeah I like the other wheels too.

From the photo's though, I'd say they're Wolfrace, not Slotmags.

Once I've worn the current tyres out on my gold car I'm going to fit some in place of the originals.

Nice looking motor. Good to see a tin top too.

Shaun.

Rob,
Did you redo the interior or are those the original seat covers? Are the carpet after market? I'm redoing the interior on mine and I have the same combination. If you bought those parts, where did you get them?

Hi Nick,

The carpets have been replaced, it's the same as what was in there originally. i believe they were bought from a Triumph specialist here in chelmsford, based around beehive lane or near stock. i work with the previous owner so i'll ask him tomorrow assuming he's onsite, you know what these office workers are like! for some reason £80 rings a bell but this would of been in 2004. The seats and door cards are original, the car was locked up for about 12 years after some kind of nasty divorce, the husband hid it in his brothers garage and then emigrated. after 12 years it was sold and recomissioned, then sold to my work collegue who had it resprayed (same colour) and bought new carpets. it's only done 51k so it's had a relitively easy life!

Hey Jeff! it's been a long time buddy! how's things?

Rob.

Local track. Had the chance to drive around behind pace car, by the end of the day the driving was getting quite spirited.

Nick, the place was Triumph Spares Specialist, Carlton Farm, Beehive Lane, Chelmsford, Essex, CM2 8RL, 01245-257739. The Radio was bought there and he's pretty sure the carpets came from there too.

Hi Bobbie,

The Triumph place at Beehive lane has now closed down, you do however see him pop up on Ebay from time to time (I think something like - triumph spares chelmsford).

Where are you based? There are a good few of us wedge drivers in Essex.

Cheers

Hi Ian,

I had no idea he had closed down, it was a few years ago the previous owner bought the carpets. i'm in south woodham ferrers, I did go to a club meet at a pub in margaretting which seems to have burned down! I had so many cars on the go i got lost and did nothing for a few years. They have since gone so i'm now down to 4 haha, The TR7 is now my main focus and reading Beans Restoration thread has really fuelled my passion for the little wedge. On that note, Beans you should seriously write a book!

The Sprint engine turns up tomorrow and the Sprint inlet manifold i won on Ebay (£23 odd quid ouch!) will be here before the weekend hopefully. i've taken a complete gamble on this engine, so in a few days you'll either hear of my joy at yet another eBay bargain or being totally gutted and wondering why i did something so stupid as to buy an unseen engine!

The Plan is to have convert the TR7 to sprint power, uprate the obvious, seam weld what i can get to and get her MOT'd and reliability tested before July. oh and fit my job inbetween!

Rob.
