Hi,

My Avez came of a MGF, i worked as a MGF technician at a Rover dealership. We could only sell second MGF's in standard or with factory supplied accessories fitted.I had to fit standard wheels back on this particular car, as the sales manager owed me a favour or two, i asked if they were for sale? His reply was have them for nothing [:D] Fitted them but to be honest didnt like them alot so stuck them in the loft! must admit never seen another 'F' with them on.

Cheers John

John

Do you still have them in your loft?

If so, would you part with them to fit to my MGF?

P.S. Just about forgiven you for getting the FHC from Lancaster[:D]

[:0]Woah! Slow down a bit [:0].
I hope John does still have those wheels, I've been waiting ages for the time he wants to get rid of them [:)].
John don't forget, if your running out of storage space, I can always store them ON my TR for you [;)] [:D].

There is a reason why I would like theses Azev's for my MGF.

In the late 1990's a large MG-Rover dealer in Nottinghamshire grew tired of waiting for the factory to produce a real "performance" MGF so he developed his own called the Cheetah.

This comprised a supercharged 'k' series engine, a German sourced bodykit and suspension changes to cope with the extra power. 17" Azev wheels completed the conversion and it was well received by those who drove one (see links below).

However, MG-Rover were not impressed that someone had outgunned them and allegedly weren't overly helpful to the project and this, combined with the almost £30,000 price tage meant that very few were sold to the public.

The cars that survive complete, possibly as few as 3 or 4 only, are highly sought after and seldom available.

It is my plan to build a replica and John's wheels would be the finishing touch. So you can see there is an MGF history to these wheels and I'm not trying to remove them from the TR7/8 scene for the sake of it. It might even be that the car John removed the wheels from was an original Cheetah

Apologies if there is a pecking order for the wheels as I was obviously unaware of this when I made the original request/post to John.

Hi Craig, my Bond hillclimb/sprint car was renowned for being very loud when I first built it, roughly at the same time as the song was in the hit parade(old or what!) It sort of seemed relevant.

6 by 14 Minator with Falken tyres.
Seems to work pretty good and I think they look like the original design of magnesium Minilites which I always wanted but could never afford.
