Fog Light Switch and Connections

Postby bottomtop » 27 Jun 2016 04:38

Hello,

My fog light switch has toasted itself, and has melted part of the connector block too. The original 3 position fog light switch I have is seemingly unavailable new, but I have ordered another one which I will see if I can get sorted to work. From what I understand there were a number of variations of the Lucas 182SA switch but the 3 position fog one isn't around anymore. Its a case of trying to use another lighting one. As I don't have rear fog lights and never will, a 2 position switch should do the job. The problem though is the terminal block (i.e. plug that goes into the back of the switch). I just can't seem to find one anywhere - has anyone here purchased one recently?
I will either relay the fog lights or convert them to LED bulbs to avoid this happening again.

I'll post a picture of the switch & plug that I've recently removed from my car, it might be what you need, if so your welcome to it, postage to down under might be the killer though.

Sorry about the delay, this is the switch and bit of wiring that I've removed, it's not the same but perhaps you could splice it into your loom and use it. The bulb is missing from the top of the plug.

It's a 3 position switch, Off - Rear On - Both On.

Thanks so much for posting this. In the interim I think I may have found a solution, but if not I will PM you about these parts.

Thanks again.
