Cork rocker cover gasket

Is it advisable to put a little grease between the head and the cork rocker cover gasket, to help with the seal? I know it is not a good idea to put gasket sealant between the head and the gasket, but wondered if a small amount of grease was OK. Just to help the seal.

Personally I would get a silicone one.

They take a little more time to fit but once done you can remove the cover and refit without having to fit a new gasket.

Done this few times on our TR6!

I have always used graphite grease on anything I want to come off cleanly some time.

I sprayed the side of the gasket that goes against the valve cover with red tacky gasket spray. The head side is dry and clean as is the gasket side that contacts it. I do that with all gaskets. No leaks in 9 years. Being a spray you get an even coating on the gasket unlike having to spread a paste with your finger. As far as removing gasket never had to do one I've done yet but other gaskets I use a gasket remover spray.
