Seat frames

Are the early and late seat frames interchangeable ie.
Headrests I've just recovered an early seat frame for a late car and I'm having trouble fitting the headrest [V]

No bother I managed to find and spare early headrest and confirmed there the same,
Now installed it seemed a tighter for I just didn't want to force it [8D]
