Steering Wheel Size

Postby mak » 06 Aug 2010 20:43

Hi,

Does any know the standard size of a TR7 steering wheel please?

Mine has a TR8 wheel on it at the moment and i'm contemplating on changing it for a slightly larger diameter plain mota lita wheel. Partly to make steering a bit easier, partly so I can see the instruments and partly as the grey on the TR8 wheel doesn't seem to fit so well with the black dash.

Mota lita do a 14" wheel the same style as the TR8 one but i'm not convinced I want to go quite as big as the original (from memory they are quite large?)

Anyone any idea?

The stock TR8 leather wheel is 13-inches.

Thanks.

Do you need one for your conversion? :-)

I actually drilled holes in a TR8 wheel for the rally look. If the wheel is in good shape you can sell it for some good money. Now there are some 14 and 15 wheels that look like a mota lita that will work just fine.

The stock TR7 wheel is about an inch bigger than the TR8. I changed from a 7 to an 8 and noticed no difference in how much force is needed to turn the wheel. If you need a 7 wheel email me.
