Hi Ian, Thanks for that. I should be ok, if it does all go a bit wrong i'll be taking you up on it! you're perfectly welcome to pop round for a cuppa though.
My only real concern is when it's time to start it up. The previous owners comment that "it was holding back and lacked power" is worrying me.
So far i found two cables which run from the luminition module with damaged insulation, the bare cores had been rubbing and shorting out on the dizzy housing, easy enough to sort, just hope it hasnt caused it any long term damage.
the second thing was a 2" crack on the tubular exhaust manifold where it bolts to the gear box, i've since welded it up (silver bit around the bracket, only had stainless filler rod)
and pulled out the worst of a section where it had obviously hit the ground, havent had a chance to grind the stud yet though.
I'm dreading what other horrors i'm going to find in the next few weeks!
