Hi,
If you're absolutely stuck for a driver's seat, then the passenger seat CAN be swapped over. I did it for a year when the Pirelli rubber base mat on mine ripped. No-one had any stock and it took months to find a good s/h item. Thankfully parts are more readily available now.
The seat belt stalk was moved over to the other side of the seat as the frame is threaded on both sides to accept the bolt / assembly. It passed 2 MOT inspections. The seat recliner lever couldn't be moved over but it wasn't a problem fitting the passenger seat to the driver's. The lever became a snug fit against the transmission tunnel's carpet and could still be operated but how often do you adjust the seat in a 2 seater sports car anyway? Mine's stayed in the same position for the last 29 years......
The seats are only bolted to the floor with 4 Torx style bolts and are easily removed. Why not have a look to see if it works for you if you're in a temporary fix?
