Folks:

It seems that the calls and orders keep coming in despite my 'retirement', so starting in January 2010, Wedgeparts will be reactivated.

Now that my horrible 48 mile (each way) commute has been cut to 19, it is practical once again to revisit Wedgeparts.

However, please note that am still working full time at another parts job, so it will be strictly a part time venture. I will available most evenings on my cell to answer questions but please try to avoid calling during the workday unless it is something very quick & easy to answer.

I plan to fill orders once a week, usually on the weekend and place stock orders with UK suppliers as demand dictates. I am going to try to keep as much as possible of the old range - if it was something that sold well -, I'll stock it otherwise special order only on the next stock order. Credit card fees are very high, so I suspended the merchant account a few months ago. Thus, I shall bill via Paypal once orders are received and packed. All prices on the web site are INVALID until 01-01-10, as I am waiting on updated vendor pricing disks.

Frankly, lessons learned from the past are to keep it strictly business - no emotional attachment to the parts which means exotic ventures like the fuel injection kits, even though I thought they were ultra cool, are out of the question - I detailed all of the those techniques in Rogers last book so people can do it themselves. He thought was crazy to give out so much detail, but the truth is that the kits ended up being so darned expensive to put together we could never make anything on them.

As for other parts remanufacturing projects, if the demand is there I'll consider them. We will try to pursue another batch of sun visors, at least in black, but the vendor is extremely hard to pin down on any kind of delivery commitment. Simon Hebditch of Robsport has even tried chasing them on my belhalf without any results. Blue & tan remain very difficult as it will require a large, custom run of material to get the colour right.

I never had the oportunity to do bussiness with Wedgeparts. More suppiers is encouraging for our cars. Hopefully, more unobtainable parts will be available. I could use a gas cap.[;)]

Wedgeparts was my FIRST CHOICE for business...very happy to hear Brad's going to start it back up.

And Brad is partly to "blame" for my acquiring a TR8. Met him here in Clarksville several years ago, and saw his projects. Then when I bought mine, he was a tremendous help - with supplying parts AND offering expertise and even labor - with my restoration.

Glad to hear he's back in business if only on a part time basis. Always nice to have another source especially for the odd part not readily available from the usuals.
